With a focus on our ambitious goal for Aotearoa New Zealand to become a globally renowned fintech nation, accelerated by the progression from Open Finance toward an Open Data economy, this session invites participants to help define our north star vision for our digital future.

We see this inaugural roundtable as a catalyst for an ongoing, cross‑sector national conversation about how Aotearoa can become a potent, digitally enabled economy.

Hosted in partnership with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and Chapman Tripp (with other partners to be announced), this focused half‑day event is designed for those who want to contribute directly to the national fintech agenda.

Through facilitated discussions and collaborative workshops, participants will:

• Engage with senior representatives from the Financial Markets Authority (FMA), Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ), Department of Internal Affairs (DIA), Commerce Commission (ComCom), MBIE, and other key agencies.
• Define priority actions to accelerate open‑finance adoption and digital‑economy readiness.
• Explore how policy, technology, and industry innovation can work together to deliver a trusted digital‑finance framework.

Led by a team of skilled facilitators and invited national and international experts, the sessions blend small‑group collaboration and whole‑room discussion to ensure every voice contributes to a unified vision for what comes next.

Insights and outcomes from this roundtable will be shared during the main Hui and inform FinTechNZ’s ongoing engagement with government and industry on Aotearoa’s financial‑innovation roadmap.
