Adam Gagen leads the Global Government Affairs function for Revolut, the UK and Europe’s largest Digital Bank.
Revolut has grown in ten years to have more than 70M customers and operations in 41 countries. It provides financial services to consumers and businesses, covering all aspects of their daily lives including domestic and international payments, multicurrency wallets, investments and trading (stocks, commodities, digital assets), savings, credit, insurance, merchant acquiring, etc. It currently operates across the UK, EU, Australia, NZ, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, Mexico, India, and the US. It has operated as a bank since 2018, and is already directly regulated by the European Central bank due to its systemic designation in the EU. It plans to be a Bank in more than 100 markets. It provides its basic multi currency accounts and associated services for free, and supports financial inclusion and empowerment in every market in which it operates. Revolut remains privately held, with investments from a number of the largest global VCs and institutional investors. It is valued at $75 Billion.
Adam leads their engagement with policymakers, regulators and other stakeholders around the world to help shape public policy interventions which make a real positive difference in people’s financial lives. Adam joined Revolut in 2022 after five years leading Government engagement for American Express across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Adam has two decades of experience in international policymaking, originally starting his career with the EU Commission in Brussels and then Taipei, following which he held regional and global advocacy roles in the private sector based out of Beijing, Hong Kong and Brussels. He and his family split their time between the UK and France. Adam has a Degree in Combined Social Sciences from Durham University and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from London University.
